Succession Planning and Rewards: How Should They Be Aligned?

2010-08-19

Succession planning, including identifying and developing potential replacements for top executive roles, is a critical responsibility for the Board and the CEO. Yet, in many organizations, the alignment among the succession planning, performance and reward levers could be improved. As a consequence, top performing/high potential leaders – and the broader organization – may be at risk. How can organizations ensure that exceptional rewards and growth opportunities are directed at their best people?

In this interactive session, we’ll discuss:

o  Typical approaches to succession planning, including processes and tools used in many organizations to deliver leadership continuity and ongoing development.

o  Current practices linking rewards and performance with succession planning, including a few (disguised) real world examples

o  A new methodology and dashboard tool that can help align and integrate your talent, performance and rewards decisions, leading to smarter business decisions.

Our facilitators for this session will be Patrick Shannon and Tony Tai from Mercer Consulting.
